Sylvia Pfefferkorn: “Cosmopolitanism is needed as a location factor”

Democracy, diversity and cosmopolitanism are location factors for the economy that, according to Sylvia Pfefferkorn, do not receive enough attention. "Many companies have now recognized this," says Pfefferkorn, who was one of the founding members of the association Business for a cosmopolitan Saxony e. V. almost nine years ago with her Dresden advertising agency. The association's now almost 160 members include global companies such as Amazon, but the majority are local names such as Elbe Flugzeugwerke, the energy group LEAG, Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, the electrolyzer manufacturer Sunfire and the knitting machine manufacturer Terrot. But lobbying for cosmopolitanism as a location factor is likely to become more difficult after the results of the federal election, and not only in Saxony.
